COVID-19 in France: fast screening tests to be implemented in airports from November 7th onwards
These fast screening tests for coronavirus will concern all passengers arriving from abroad except those from European countries.
“Mandatory” and fast tests
The news was announced on Monday, November 2nd, by the Minister of Ecological Transition, Barbara Pompili. According to information relayed by the newspaper Le Figaro, “compulsory” and fast coronavirus screening tests will be introduced in French airports from November 7th. They will primarily apply to passengers arriving from abroad, except for those arriving from the European States, the minister emphasised.

Air transport sector’s request
Air traffic is facing a dramatic collapse because of the traffic restrictions that have been introduced around the world to curb the spread of the coronavirus. The air transport industry has therefore pushed for the large-scale deployment of COVID-19 testing at airports to avoid the application of arrival quarantine measures.
